I have got an "A" again for the writing. Dave looked a little surprised, when he saw my second topic was almost correct. I made the mistakes I wouldn't have noticed anyway. For example, do you know that words for big wild animal with horns don't have plural forms? "Deer, elk, moose", but not "deers, elks, mooses". I hadn't known that before.
I feel like a person who did magic, saw it work but still couldn't believe that it was done by him. Could writing a few posts in English really help so fast?

I have had my second guitar lesson. My teacher complimented me on my playing. He said I'm learning fast (That's funny I don't remember the expression he used. I was able to understand and translate it, but now I can't translate it back to English). I think he is lying, but I was glad, anyway. We played a duet, counting the rhythm. Hm, probably, my sense of rhythm is not so awful as I think? I liked playing the duet. The tutor sent his records to me for more training.

We walked in a park with our new friends yesterday and came to their place. We played board games and drank whisky. I liked new honey Jack Daniel's, it doesn't have a foul taste. We came back at 5 am. Everything was great, people were perfect, I hope we will meet again.

We have been watching two series "X-files" and "Dead Zone" (based on King's novel) every evening the second week. I tried to watch "X-Files" in English when I was living in Russia and it was extremely complicated. There were many long incomprehensible words, medical and scientific terms. I could recognize only one word of twenty and while I was trying to recall what this word means, actors were saying forty more. Now I don't strain myself or listen too attentively, I just have fun and understand almost every word. May be, I'll try to watch "House MD" next

Everything is so good that I'm enjoying every second of my life. Life has been an amazing thing for past two months (Should I use Present Perfect Continuous, if yes, how it should look like? "life have been being..."? Sounds weird)

Re: 2/2
I've fixed the mistakes, thank you.
A couple of questions, as usual :)

You present no context, so your options are: specify the time OR use the present perfect.

That's interesting, because we had a discussion with my classmate last week. She insisted, we have to use Past Simple when we don't tell about the time, for instance, "I traveled a lot" and use Present Perfect in cases we specify the time, " I have traveled a lot last summer". I didn't agree, but two other classmates said she was right. Was she?

as awful as

Why I can't use "so awful as"? Lingvo says: "so ... as не так ..., как (при отрицательном сравнении) - it is not so easy as you think" I also have remembered this rule since I was in a school, i.e. "He isn't so tall as you" (Он не такой высокий, как ты)
In my sentence "My skill is not so awful as I think" - what's wrong?

I also saw I have a lot of troubles with understanding of Perfect Tenses and Past Simple. But I'm gonna systematize it and write a post with questions

And again, thank you for your time. It's important for me

Re: 2/2
You have to differentiate between these different times:
a) now/just, today, recently, this week/month/year, past month/year
b) yesterday, last night/week/month/year, x days/years ago, in 2000, at 3pm, time implied from the context
The times under a) are all related to "now" or include it, which is why it's the present (perfect) and not the past (simple). The times under b) aren't related to "now", they're in the past.

But there's a subtle detail, however, also related that sacred "now":
"I have lived in Russia for many years." is normally interpreted as "I still live in Russia."
"I lived in Russia for many years." = "Now I live elsewhere."
Actions like living/working/etc continuing into the present (into now) are in, well, the present.
I consider this case an exception. I think the present perfect continuous makes much more sense than the present perfect here, but seems like people have dumbed it down and not it's a bit illogical.
Btw, for something that was happening in the past and then stopped we also have "used to/would" and the past perfect.

"I have traveled a lot last summer" is wrong because of the combination of the present perfect and "last".
It would be correct to say either "I traveled a lot last summer" (the summer is over) or "I have traveled a lot this summer" (it is still summer now).

So, I think they got it backwards.

See a grammar book, e.g. Murphy (there's even a Russian translation in many places online).

"so + adj + as" vs "as + adj + as". It may be not wrong, but a simple google search reveals that "as + adj + as" is used much more often, and that includes the negation.

Re: 2/2
Simple google search reveals that "превед медвед" (402,000) used much more often then "привет медведь"(39,600). Does it mean "превед медвед" correct? :)

Re: 2/2
Why, of course it is correct!
For speakers of Medved. :)
